Liberia was a touch sell by any measure in 2006, but the need for foreign investment in the country was very clear and pressing. The cards were not all bad, as Liberia's 2005 polls produced a president loved by Liberians and respected by the international community...Madam Sirleaf had a lot of good public relations she could use to deal with image problems. However, the need still existed to have a competent person who could pick up the National Investment Commission, manage it, and bring the investments that will create jobs and improve this war-ravaged country's economy.
